Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern access to and use of the EdCo mobile application and related web services (the “Platform”), provided by EdCo Tech (SMC-Pvt) Ltd. (“EdCo”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms on behalf of yourself and, where applicable, the school, college, business or organisation you represent (an “Institution”).

1. What EdCo provides

EdCo is a mobile‑first billing and payment‑collection platform. It lets an Institution create and send invoices, apply discounts and overdue penalties, offer instalment plans, manage multiple branches, and collect payments via 1BILL, RAAST, debit/credit cards, cash and bank transfer, with automatic reconciliation, reminders and notifications.

2. Eligibility & accounts

• You must be authorised by an Institution to act on its behalf when creating or using an EdCo account for that Institution.
• You are responsible for the accuracy of information entered into the Platform, including customer, student or member records and billing amounts.
• You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account.

3. Payment processing

Payments made through the Platform are processed by 1LINK (Guarantee) Ltd. (1BILL, RAAST) and Bank Alfalah Limited (Alfa Payment Gateway) or other payment partners we may add from time to time. Use of these payment rails is also subject to those providers’ own terms and applicable State Bank of Pakistan regulations. EdCo is a technology facilitator and is not a party to the underlying transaction between an Institution and its Payer.

4. Fees

Fees for using the Platform, if any, are as agreed separately in writing between EdCo and the Institution. Payment processors and banking partners may charge their own transaction or gateway fees, which will be disclosed to the Institution.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the Platform for any unlawful purpose or to collect payments you are not entitled to collect;
• enter false, misleading, or another person’s information without authorisation;
• attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or gain unauthorised access to the Platform or its infrastructure;
• use the Platform to send unsolicited or abusive communications to Payers.

6. Data & privacy

Our collection and use of information is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. An Institution is responsible for having a lawful basis to share information about its customers, students or members with EdCo for billing purposes.

7. Intellectual property

The Platform, including its software, design and the EdCo name and logo, is owned by EdCo and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to use EdCo’s branding except as necessary to use the Platform.

8. Availability & changes

We aim to keep the Platform available and reliable but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may modify, suspend or discontinue features of the Platform, and may update these Terms from time to time; continued use of the Platform after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, EdCo is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from use of the Platform, including delays or failures caused by third‑party payment processors, messaging providers, or cloud infrastructure outside our reasonable control.

10. Termination

Either party may stop using or providing the Platform in accordance with the separate agreement (if any) between EdCo and the Institution. EdCo may suspend an account that violates these Terms or poses a security or compliance risk.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and any dispute arising from them will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Pakistan.
