Refund & Cancellation Policy

Payments to an Institution

EdCo Tech (SMC-Pvt) Ltd. (“EdCo”) provides the technology that lets a school, college, business or organisation (“Institution”) issue invoices and collect payment from its own customers, students or members (“Payers”). When a Payer pays an invoice through the Platform, that payment is owed to, and collected on behalf of, the Institution — EdCo is a payment facilitator, not the seller of the underlying goods, fee or service.

As a result, requests for a refund, waiver or cancellation of a fee — for example, a withdrawal from a school, a returned product, or a cancelled service — should be directed to the Institution that issued the invoice. The Institution decides whether a refund is owed, in line with its own policies, and instructs EdCo (or its payment partner) accordingly.

How a refund is processed

Once an Institution approves a refund, it is returned using the same channel the payment was made through:

• Card payments (Alfa Payment Gateway): refunded to the original card, typically within 7–14 banking days, subject to the cardholder’s bank.
• 1BILL / RAAST: refunded to the originating bank account or wallet, subject to the processing times of 1LINK and the receiving bank.
• Cash or bank transfer collected directly by the Institution: refunded by the Institution using its own process.

Failed or duplicate payments

If a payment is deducted but not reflected against an invoice on the Platform (for example, due to a network error), it will be automatically reconciled once confirmed by the payment processor. If it is not resolved automatically, contact the Institution or reach EdCo through our contact form with the transaction reference, and we will help trace and resolve it with our payment partners.

Platform subscription fees

Where an Institution pays EdCo directly for use of the Platform, any refund or cancellation of that subscription is governed by the separate written agreement between EdCo and the Institution.
